It's been a frustrating evening.

Since the sink and toilet in the boy's bathroom have issues, I decided we would all go to Lowes and choose replacements.

Well, the choosing was fairly quick. However, between me and the sons, we have no plumbing skills at all, so I requested that the items be installed. I'm not big on getting advice on the internet when a wrong move would flood the house.

Well, it turned out that installing the toilet was $129, and installing the sink was over $200. So I asked why, and no one could tell me. Instead, I agreed to have someone come and give an estimate and tell me what kind of sink and toilet would work, because evidently there have been several issues with folks buying the wrong items for the house/space/whatever, which means the contractor has to tell them why it won't work, return the item, and get one that does work.

So I get home, and get on the Internet. And I discover that normally, a plumber charges more to install a sink- in fact, about what I was being charged- than a toilet.

Teach me to ck first. But, with my luck, I would've bought the wrong toilet. Or sink. Or not. So much for simple.

Weird! I wonder why it's so much more for a sink, I would have thought it would be the other way around. Good luck with the upgrades!
