I finally did it. I finally got a riding lawn mower. I promised myself that I would after my older son found work and I paid off his car. (He's bought the law mower and the shed to put it in as the down payment for his car. He's paying the rest off with so much per payck)

I bought delivery pizza for dinner and spent two hours (about) playing with my new toy- mowing the front, side, and about 2/3 of the back yard. I had to stop because the sun was going down. Now thinking about it, I've been going over the pros and cons of my two mowers.

Pro for the riding mower- I sit on it and it mows both twice as much and twice as fast as my walking mower.

Pro: I'll spend about an hour mowing with the mower and an hour with the weedeater to get the grass done. Normally I spent somewhere in the region of four hours a week on the yard, just mowing.

Con: I had to buy a shed to put it in. Cavet-there's some room to store tools and such as well.

Con: I'm afraid to get too close to a building yet, so I have swaths of unmowed grass near the house to weed-eat or get with the normal mower.

Con: I'm going to pay out the wazoo to get it fixed, because I don't have a car big enough to pull a trailer for it, so someone will have to come to the house to fix it, or I'll have to find a way to get it to the shop.

Con: I can't mow the yard and claim it as exercise.

I think the pro's outweigh the cons. Especially in 90 degree heat. I'll walk or start Zumba for exercise.

Yay riding mower! I've played around with getting one too, but yeah, the storage and the transportation to get it fixed are both issues. My mom has been helping me mow this summer, so that's been a lifesaver.
